sending scripts to the big producers

I'm doing a bit of research as to how I could get a script shown around Hollywood. Basically it should cost me at least $3500 to get good representation. I should get an attorney to show I'm serious. So if I want to write an exciting episode for "Buffy", etc, this is the way to go.. Anyone tried this route?
